Andrei Loktionov

Andrei Loktionov Vyacheslavovich (Russian: Андрей Вячеславович Локтионов; born 30 May 1990 in Woskressensk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since March 2014 at the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Loktionov began his career in the youth teams of Chimik Woskressensk. In 2003, he played for the youth teams of HK Spartak Moscow before moving to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 2006. For locomotive he played in the third-class Perwaja League before he debuted in 2008 for the men's team in the Russian Super League. During the NHL Entry Draft in 2008, he was selected by the Los Angeles Kings and sent them in the Ontario Hockey League with the Windsor Spitfires. This was preceded by a conflict between the Kontinental Hockey League and the NHL over the contract status of the Russians. With the Spitfires 2009 he won both the J. Ross Robertson Cup and the Memorial Cup.

From the beginning of season 2009/10 he played for the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League, announced during the season but also his NHL debut. In February 2013, the Russian was transferred in exchange for a fifth- round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the New Jersey Devils. The following season, the Devils gave Loktionov from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Tuomo Ruutu.

Internationally

With the Russian U18 selection Loktionov participated in several international tournaments, winning a gold and a silver medal at the U18 World Championships.
