Andrei Makoveev

Andrei Alexandrovich Makowejew (Russian: Андрей Александрович Маковеев, born October 16, 1982 in Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast ) is a Russian biathlete.

Andrei Makowejew began his international career at the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Ridnaun. Best finish was a fifth place in the relay. Things went better at the European Championships in the same year in Kontiolahti. Here he won gold in the sprint ahead of Michael Rösch and with the squadron, who was also Maxim Chudov. At the European Championships a year later in Forni Avoltri was added a bronze medal in the relay.

Since 2005 Makowejew starts in the European Cup. After he was in his second race in Garmisch -Partenkirchen Sprint Third, you put him in the World Cup for the first time a. In Antholz, he was 46th in the sprint. Shortly thereafter, he was reinstated in the European Cup and then at the European Championships in Novosibirsk, where he achieved good results but had no medals. On the fifth World Cup weekend of the season 2011/2012 Andrei Makowejew celebrated his first World Cup victory. After error-free shooting, he finished in 1st place in Nove Mesto individual race.
