Andrei Nikolsky
Andrei Vladimirovich Nikolski (Russian: Андрей Владимирович Никольский, even Andrei Nikolsky transcribed; * 1959 in Moscow, † 1995 in Waterloo, Belgium) was a Russian pianist.
Career
Nikolsky received his first piano lessons at age five. In 1976 he began his studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he was taught by among others, Heinrich Neuhaus and Lev Naumov. He also studied with Hans Leygraf at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
Nikolsky 1979 won the second prize at the Concours Lond - Thibaud, 1987 the first prize at the Concours Reine Elisabeth Musical. In 1988 he participated in the Belgian nationality.
His repertoire had priorities in Prokofiev, Chopin and Liszt.
