Andrei Stoliarov

Andrei Jurjewitsch Stoljarow (Russian: Андрей Юрьевич Столяров; born January 9, 1977 in Sochi ) is a former Russian tennis player.

Career

Stoljarow celebrated first on the Challenger Tour success. In individual, he won a title in his career and four other in doubles. On the ATP World Tour, he celebrated his biggest success with the finals in Chennai, but it lost to the Czech Michal Tabara. At Grand Slam tournaments he achieved his best result in 2000 at Wimbledon in singles by reaching the third round.

In the years 2001 and 2002 Stoljarow was used twice in the Russian Davis Cup team. He denied in his missions one game in singles, both against Sweden: in 2001 he defeated Magnus Norman in the quarterfinals in three sets, 2002, he benefited from the injury-related task his opponent Andreas Vinciguerra. This Stoljarow was part of the Russian team that could win the Davis Cup in the 2002 season.
