Andrei Vasilevski (ice hockey, born 1994)

Andrei Vasilevsky (Russian: Андрей Андреевич Василевский, * July 25, 1994 in Tyumen ) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Salavat Yulaev Ufa plays in the Kontinental Hockey League since 2012. His father was also a professional ice hockey goaltender Andrei, his brother Alexei 's ice hockey defender.

Career

Andrei Vasilevsky began his career in 2005 in the young field of Salavat Yulaev Ufa and went through all the youth teams. In September 2010 he made his debut for Tolpar Ufa, the junior team of Salavat Yulaev Ufa, in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League ( MHL ) and then became a permanent squad for the MHL team, to whom his brother Alexei played. During the KHL Junior Draft 2011, he was selected in the first round in seventh place of Salavat Yulaev. A year later he was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning at 19th place in the framework of the NHL Entry Draft in 2012.

On November 23, 2012 Vasilevsky debuted in the Kontinental Hockey League for Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the game against the HK Donbass Donetsk. His first victory in the KHL he reached on January 8, 2013, when he did not concede against the HK Dynamo Moscow.

Internationally

Andrei Vasilevsky represented his country at youth level for a total of five world championships, the U18 World Youth Championship in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the Under-20 World Youth Championship in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Doing so, he won a silver and three bronze medals. In the U18 World Youth Championship 2011, he played with his brother Alexei in Russia.
