Andrejs Piedels

Andrejs Piedels ( born September 17, 1970 in Jēkabpils ) is a Latvian football goalkeeper.

His career at club level he began in 1992 with FK Daugava Riga for which he played from 1996 to 1997. In between, he was active for Pārdaugava FK Riga, DAG Riga and Riga Amstrig. In 1998 he moved to Skonto Riga. For this club, he played 171 games in ten years. During this time he also rose to the national team. In 2004 he won the Latvian championship with Skonto Riga. In 2008 he moved for one year to FK Jurmala and since 2009 he plays again for his home club Daugava Riga.

He participated in the 2004 European Football Championship, was there but not used. In this tournament, as most of his national team career, he was only behind goalkeeper Aleksandrs Koļinko. Overall, he played 14 times for the Latvian national team.
