Andrejs Vlascenko

Andrejs Vlascenko (Russian: Андрей Влащенко, German transliteration Andrei Wlaschtschenko; born June 15, 1974 in Weimar ) is a German figure skater and coach Russian- Latvian origin. He was several Latvian and German champion in a single run.

Biography

Andrejs Vlascenkos parents worked in Weimar (then East Germany) in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. As Vlascenko was two years old, his Russian father, an army officer, back in the Soviet Union was transferred to Latvia. Vlascenko grew up in Riga, where he began in 1980 as a six- year-old with figure skating. After the collapse of the Soviet Union Vlascenkos parents separated; he stayed with his mother and took the Latvian citizenship. As a student of Anzelika Surupova it was 1992 and 1994 Latvian Champion, began in 1993 at the Junior World Championships for Latvia and reached the 5th place.

After the 1994 World Cup Andrejs Vlascenko moved with his trainer Anzelika Surupova over to his native Germany and found at TuS Stuttgart ice sporting a new home. Advised by his trainer and longtime companion Anzelika Surupova, 1995, he was at first national title holder. A year later he received the start authorization for the German team. At the World Championships in Canada in 1996 Vlascenko stood as the second German runner by Norbert Schramm a triple axel in an international competition.

In the fall of 1997, the beginning of his most successful season, Vlascenkos naturalization after Germany was rejected because he had recently become noticeable when driving. He once drove without a license and once under the influence of alcohol. The lack of German citizenship prevented an Olympic Start for Germany.

Vlascenko trained with Surupowa since 1999 in Fussen, but changed the following year to Munich at Steffi Ruttkies. Recently (since 2002) was supervised active for the Munich EV athletes of Alexander Wedenin. In 2004 he finished his amateur career as a figure skater.

Andrejs Vlascenko lived and worked first in Dortmund and then Herford as a coach, in March 2007, he has served in this position in Munich. He is married to Mrs. Olena and has since August 2005 a son Alexander.
