Andres Kasekamp

Andres Kasekamp ( born December 7, 1966 in Toronto ) is a Canadian Professor of Baltic German and Estonian origin.

Since 2000 he is the Director of the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute (Estonian Eesti Instituut Välispoliitika, German Estonian Institute for Foreign Policy) in Tallinn and has since 2004 held the chair of Baltic Politics at the University of Tartu. Where he conducts research on right-wing extremism in the Baltics and the time history of the region.

He studied Slavic and East European Studies at the University of Toronto. In 1996 he earned his Ph.D. at the University of London. Then had Kasekamp guest lectureships / professorships in Toronto and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 2002 to 2005 he was the editor of the Journal of Baltic Studies. Kasekamp has previously published works on modern history of Estonia and the Baltic States.
