Andrew Gelman

Andrew Gelman is Professor of Statistics and Political Science and Director of the Research Center for Applied Statistics at Columbia University.

Gelman has in his research deals with questions on many different topics, such as to methods in the survey collection, toxicological and imaging techniques in medicine. He is co-author of a textbook on Bayesian data analysis and write in their own blog about issues concerning the application of statistics in the social sciences.

For his work, Gelman has received numerous awards, including the Award for Best Article Published the journal American Political Science Review, and three times the Outstanding Statistical Application Award from the American Statistical Association. He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the American Statistical Association.
