Andrew Ladd

Andrew Ladd ( born December 12, 1985 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2011 the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Andrew Ladd began his career as a hockey player in the 2001/ 02 season with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. The following season he played with the Coquitlam Express of the British Columbia Hockey League. In the period 2003-2005, the Canadian squad was in the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. During the NHL Entry Draft 2004, he was selected as the fourth overall player in the first round by the Carolina Hurricanes. In summer 2005, Ladd received a place in the squad by Carolina damaligem farm team of the American Hockey League, the Lowell Lock Monsters for which he was first active in professional hockey. In the same season he made his debut in the National Hockey League, winning in his first season with the Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup.

On 26 February 2008, the attacker was delivered to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Tuomo Ruutu. By the end of the season he came in 20 games for the Blackhawks and in two games for their farm team from the AHL, Albany River Rats used. In the 2009/10 season he won the Stanley Cup Chicago also. July 1, 2010 Ladd was to counter exceeding the salary cap, delivered to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Ivan Vishnevsky and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2011. There he continued in the 2010/11 season with 29 goals and 59 points in the regular season new personal records and finished this season as the best scorer of the Thrashers, who again missed the part in the playoffs.

After the franchise was moved to the end of the season in the Canadian Winnipeg, the contract of the attacker ran out on 1 July 2011 and Ladd became a restricted free agent. As a restricted free player was the possibility that an offer from another team he would be made the basis of a so-called Offer sheets. To this end, it did not come, and on 5 July 2011, the team captain of the Winnipeg Jets agreed on a new contract with the Jets for five years worth about 22 million U.S. dollars.
