Andrew Love (musician)

Andrew Love ( born November 21, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee; † 12 April 2012) was an American musician ( woodwinds ) and songwriter.

Music

Loves main instruments were Saxophone at different pitches. He was the dark-skinned half of the core of the legendary Memphis Horns and the longtime partner of Wayne Jackson. Together they published on the groundbreaking music label Stax Records several albums, received numerous awards and escorted over five generations many sizes of American and world music business.

For reasons of age to Love retired in the 2000s from the active music business. He died in April 2012 from Alzheimer 's disease, after, was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in February 2012, his longtime band, the Memphis Horns.
