Andrew McCarthy
Andrew McCarthy ( born November 29, 1962 in New York City ) is an American actor.
Life
McCarthy grew up in Westfield, New Jersey and started at the age of 15 years with acting. He studied theater at New York University. He had in 1983 in the film class his first leading role. He had better-known performances as a member of the Brat Pack in films such as St. Elmo 's Fire and Pretty in Pink.
For a long time he was subscribed due to his youthful appearance on wheels young lovers in romantic comedies. In the 1990s, he managed the change to the serious character roles after him the French film director Claude Chabrol had engaged for leading roles in his films Quiet Days in Clichy and Dr. M.
After less significant roles in the 90 years he managed a comeback in 2004 with the television series Kingdom Hospital in the role of Dr. Hook. From 2005 to 2006 he worked regularly in the television series E- Ring of the successful producer Jerry Bruckheimer, in which it is about power struggles and intrigues at the Pentagon.
In 2004 he made his debut as a director with the short film News for the Church. He then directed two episodes of the television series Lipstick Jungle in the years 2008/2009 and from 2010 several episodes of Gossip Girl.
Andrew McCarthy was divorced in early 2005 by Carol Schneider, whom he married in 1999. From this relationship, he has a son. Since 2005 he lives with Dolores Rice, they have a daughter.
