Andrew Murray (ice hockey)
Andrew Murray ( born November 6, 1981 in Selkirk, Manitoba ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Kontinental Hockey League since July 2013.
Career
The 1.88 m wide center first played from 1999 to 2001 for the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He then spent two seasons at Bemidji State University and went for the ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the ice. NHL Entry Draft 2001 Murray was selected in the eighth round at position 242 of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
First, the links Sagittarius played with the Syracuse Crunch, a farm team of the Blue Jackets in the American Hockey League before he was appointed on 27 December 2007 in the NHL squad of franchises from Columbus. Five days later, the center forward against the Anaheim Ducks scored his first goal in the National Hockey League. In March 2008, Murray extended his contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets for three years until the end of season 2010/11.
After the expiry of his contract signed as a free agent on July 19, 2011, a new one-year contract with the San Jose Sharks. On February 6, 2012, the Sharks him placed on the waiver list and sent him then after he had committed no other team, the Worcester Sharks, where he played until the end of season. In June Murray NHL bargaining rights exchanged in a barter transaction to Brad Stuart of the Detroit Red Wings, but did not receive him under contract. Therefore, the St. Louis Blues could sign him a month later, said Murray received a two-way contract for one year to maturity. Due to the NHL lockout in 2012 Murray was sent to the farm team of the Blues and achieved in Episode 14 Torw in 51 AHL games for the Peoria Rivermen. He also came to the start of the NHL season in January 2013 at a NHL - use.
On July 29, 2013 Murray signed his first contract outside of North America when he was obliged by the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the KHL for a year.
