Andrew Serwer

Andrew "Andy" Serwer ( born September 16, 1959 in Chevy Chase ) is an American journalist. Since 2006 he has been editor in chief of the business magazine Fortune.

Life

Serwer studied until 1981 History from Bowdoin College in Brunswick (Bachelor of Arts). An MBA he earned from Emory University in Druid Hills and a Masters in Journalism ( 1985) at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. After that, he was a reporter at Fortune magazine. As an editor he wrote the cover stories among other things, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, John Chambers and Cisco Systems. From 2001 to 2006 he was also a presenter at industry American Morning (CNN). He has also performed at Morning Joe ( MSNBC ) and Squawkbox ( CNBC). In 2006 he became editor of Fortune. He initiated during his tenure, among others, Fortune.com.

In 2000 he was appointed by the TJFR Business News Reporter for Business Journalists of the year. In 2007 he was listed as NewsBios.com of the 100 most influential business journalists in the world.
