Andrew Shaw (ice hockey)

Andrew Shaw ( born July 20, 1991 Belleville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who stands since 2011 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League under contract and playing in parallel for their farm team Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League.

Career

Andrew Shaw began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League, where he was active from 2008 to 2011 for the Niagara IceDogs and Owen Sound Attack. In the season 2010/11 he won with Owen Sound the J. Ross Robertson Cup, the champion of the OHL, and then was allowed to participate with his team at the Memorial Cup. In the final tournament for the Memorial Cup, he was able to convince and was the top scorer of the tournament the Ed Chynoweth Trophy. In addition, he was elected to the All-Star team at the Memorial Cup. Due to its good performance with Owen Sound of the Center in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in the fifth round as the 139th overall player of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2011. For the Blackhawks, he scored in the 2011/12 season in his rookie year in 40 games twelve gates, and eleven templates. In parallel, he also played regularly for Chicago's farm team Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League.
