Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avondale (second creation)

Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avondale ( * before 1479, † 1513) was a Scottish nobleman. He was born as the son of Alexander Stewart, from whom he inherited the lands of Avondale. His father had inherited it from his uncle, Lord Avondale, which they had received, after James Douglas, 9th Earl of Douglas had lost them.

The title of Lord Avondale was revived by Andrew Stewart of Avondale around the year 1499. He fell in 1513 at the Battle of Flodden Field, and was succeeded by his son Andrew, of Avondale for Ochiltree eintauschte, and thus became the first Lord Ochiltree. Lord Avondale was also the father of Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven and Sir James Stewart, the father of James Stuart, 1st Lord Doune, whose son James first Earl of Moray was.
