Andrew Toney

Andrew Toney ( born November 23, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama ) is a former American professional basketball player who played from 1980 to 1988 for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. Alluding to a serial killer (see Albert Henry DeSalvo ), he was also called "the Boston Strangler ", after he had helped in the deciding game of the Conference Finals in 1982 to victory against the Boston Celtics 34 points. The following year he won the NBA championship with the Sixers.

Toney played in the NCAA for the team of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, before he was in the 1980 NBA Draft by the 76ers selected to 8.Stelle. He was nominated to two All-Star teams in 1982 and 1983. Due to a foot injury he was in the 1985/86 season only six games contest and finished two years later finally his career.
