Andrey Prokofyev

Andrei Vasilyevich Prokofiev (Russian: Андрей Васильевич Прокофьев, English transcription Andrey Prokofyev, . Born June 6, 1959 in Sverdlovsk, † 19 June 1989), was a Soviet hurdler and sprinter.

Prokofiev was in 1978, 1982, 1983 and 1986, Soviet champion in 110- meter hurdles. In 1982 he also won the 100 -meter run. 1979 and 1983 Prokofiev won the hurdles at the Universiade.

At the Olympic Games in 1980, the hurdler from the United States were due to the Olympic boycott not at the start. Andrei Prokofiev s was fourth in the 110m hurdles, 0.05 s behind bronze in 13.49.
