Andries Both

Andries Both (* 1612 or 1613 in Utrecht, † March 23 1641 in Venice, also Germanized Andreas Both ) was a Dutch painter.

He and his brother Jan enjoyed the lessons Abraham Bloemaert, but went early to Rome, where in January was formed after Claude Lorrain's landscapes and Andries to the figures and animals of Pieter van Laer. Andries drowned in a canal in Venice, where the brothers had stayed some time.
