Andrius Mamontovas

Andrius Mamontovas ( born August 23, 1967 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian songwriter, musician and actor.

Life

Andrius Mamontovas founded in 1983, so even under socialism, his first rock band Foje. It consisted of 16 albums 1983-1997 and played a. The band was very popular in Lithuania and won over the years, all prices, Lithuania has to forgive in this regard. After independence, the band toured in European and American clubs. In 1997, Foje her farewell concert in Vilnius in front of 60,000 spectators, which means the national record until today. Incidentally Mamontovas is also dedicated to acting in movies and on stage. After the dissolution of the band Foje he began a solo career as a musician, giving it 15 BRAVO (Lithuania ) prices, the Lithuanian equivalent of the Grammy earned. In between, he wrote film scores for short films and a theater performance of Ivanov by Anton Chekhov at the Teatro Argentina in Rome, also under the direction of Eimuntas Nekrošius. On the occasion of the EU accession of Lithuania and other countries on 1 May 2004 his band was the main act at the Brandenburg Gate. His last success was 6th place in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 together with the Lithuanian All-Star Band and the Song LT United We Are The Winners.

His first major film role came in the film " Nereikalingi Žmonės " (literally: " Unnecessary People ", English title: " loss" - loss ), which was published in 2007. For this film he also composed the film music for which he was awarded the Jin Jue Award for the best film music at the Shanghai International Film Festival 2008.
