Andriy Fedchuk

Andrij Wassylowytsch Fedtschuk (Ukrainian Андрій Васильович Федчук, English transcription Andriy Fedchuk, . Born January 12, 1980 in Kolomyja, † November 15, 2009 in Ivano -Frankivsk ) was a Ukrainian boxer. Fedtschuk was bronze medalist of the Olympic Games 2000.

Career

In the youth level ( U19) Fedtschuk won the bronze medal in the middleweight ( - 75kg) at the Junior World Championships in 1998.

In 1999 Fedtschuk at the World Championships and arrived after victories over Harald Geissler, Germany, and Paul Miller, Australia ( 6-2 ), the quarter-finals, which he, however, against the eventual silver medalist Adrian Diaconu, Romania ( 9:1), lost.

At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he won the bronze medal in the light heavyweight ( 81kg - ). He suggested doing Azziz Raguig, Morocco ( RSC 3 ), Charles Adamu, Ghana ( 13:5 ), and Gurcharan Singh, India ( 12:12 ) before the semi-final against Rudolf Kraj, Czech Republic, he ( 11:7 ), lost and thus won the Olympic bronze medal.
