Andros Townsend

Andros Darryl Townsend ( * July 16, 1991 in London) is an English footballer. The winger is currently the English first division club Tottenham Hotspur under contract.

Career

Association

Townsend plays since the age of nine at Spurs and was trained in their football Academy since 2007. In his time there, he helped the U-18 team of the club reached the final of the Premier Academy League season 2008/ 09. In March 2009, Townsend was awarded to the English third division side Yeovil Town to gain experience until the end of the season. Immediately after, in August 2009, a lending transaction with the Football League One Leyton Orient representative was completed, which was, however, limited to one month. However, after he was able to achieve the intermediate 2:2 ( Full 3:3 ) through a barrel over the field in league play against his former club Yeovil Town, his contract was extended until the end of the first round. But even after this loan Townsend was not yet ready for the Spurs squad and should spend the second half of the season 2009/10 at Milton Keynes Dons. After two months, however, saw Tottenham Hotspur against acute injury problems, so Townsend as well as Jake Livermore were recalled.

At the beginning of the 2010/11 season signed a loan agreement Townsend at second division Ipswich Town, which should apply to the entire season. After borrowing average benefits was ended the year ahead of schedule. This makes it Townsend was possible to give in the third round of the FA Cup his competitive debut for the track and at the same time to score his first goal. However, he could through his appearances in the second division does not apply for nominations in the first team the Spurs, so that the second division Watford FC secured the services of the Englishman to the end of the season. There, however, he was released after one month and three inserts from the lending transaction, so Townsend with the signature at FC Millwall in March 2011 had the third employer in a season.

At the end of the season he returned to London and spent the first half of the season 2011/12 in the Spurs squad for which he could complete five games in the Europa League.

During the winter break of 2011/12 Townsend on loan until the end of the season at Leeds United. He also extended his contract with Tottenham Hotspur for four years.

On January 31, 2013 Townsend moved to end of the season on loan to Queens Park Rangers.

In June 2013 Townsend has been blocked by the National Federation FA for breach of competition rules for four months. In addition, a fine in the amount of 18,000 pounds was imposed.

National

Townsend went through so far, the U-16, U -17 and U-19 national team of his native country. With the U- 19, he took part in the U-19 European Championship 2009 in Ukraine, where it was loaded twice in the group stage.

His first game for the England national team, he made the starting eleven in the qualification match for the Football World Cup in 2014 against Montenegro on 11 October 2013. His game was praised ( Townsend had dream debut ), and he scored in a 4-1 success in 78 minutes to score.
