Androy

Androy is one of the 25 regions of Madagascar. It belongs to the province of Toliara in the south of the island. It is bordered on the west by Atsimo - Andrefana and on the east by Anosy.

Geography

The capital is Ambovombe. Androy has about 476 600 inhabitants ( 2004), the surface area is 19,317 km ².

Administrative divisions

The region is divided into four districts:

  • Ambovombe
  • Bekily
  • Beloha
  • Tsiombe

The head of administration since 2007 Andrien Hatrifenjanahary (as of 2010 ).
