Andrzej Bachleda (born 1947)

Andrzej Bachleda - Curuś ( born January 21, 1947 in Zakopane ) is a former Polish ski racer. He is the only Polish athlete who won medals in an Alpine World Ski Championships.

Bachleda was born on January 17, 1970 in the giant slalom in Kitzbuehel first time in a World Cup race in the top three. Behind the Swiss Dumeng Giovanoli he finished second. A month later he won the bronze medal at the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Val Gardena in the Alpine combined.

On February 20, 1972 at the Canadian Banff he succeeded in the only World Cup victory of his career. Two years later he celebrated the silver medal in the Alpine Ski World Championship in combination with the St. Moritz the biggest success of his career.

He is the father of Andrzej Bachleda - Curuś junior.
