Andrzej Juskowiak

Andrzej Juskowiak ( born November 3, 1970 in Gostyń, Poland ) is a former Polish football player.

Career

In 1987, he left his hometown club Kania Gostyń and joined Lech Poznan, where he - then already one of the most outstanding Polish talent - had better training facilities. Only 17 years old he was employed in the 1987/88 season in the first team, a year later, the still young scored his first league goals. In his first full season in 1989/90 was Juskowiak Polish scorer with 18 goals.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona for the first time entered the international limelight as a scorer, Juskowiak was at Sporting Lisbon, where he played for three years from 1992 substantiate its reputation as an international top scorer. Since 1996, the striker plays in Germany. After working at clubs such as Borussia Moenchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg he played from January 2004 to 2007, in the FC Erzgebirge Aue. His greatest triumph in this time he celebrated as a striker for Borussia Mönchengladbach with the triumph in the European Cup against Arsenal. Juskowiak was with 39 Bundesliga goals for a long time the top scorer of VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga.

At FC Erzgebirge Aue, he completed 110 games in the Bundesliga 2 and was equipped with 33 goals scorer in the second division history of the club.

After the 2006/ 07 season the Pole finished his active career as a player. On September 7, 2007, his farewell match was held against his boyhood club Lech Poznań. It ended 2:4 (2:0) for poses. In this game Juskowiak played one half for both clubs.

Juskowiak played 39 times for the Polish national football team and scored 13 goals.

Juskowiak commented since end of his career matches in the Polish television, for example, the UEFA Champions League final in 2013.

Since 2013 Juskowiak works again for Erzgebirge Aue. It supports the violets in the talent search.
