Andrzej Skrzydlewski

Andrzej Skrzydlewski ( born November 3, 1946 in Ksawerów in Łódź, † May 28, 2006 ) was a Polish wrestler.

Career

Andrzej Skrzydlewski was as a teenager very powerful and has been brought to the rings of talent scouts of the sports club PTC Pabianice at the age of 17 years. Under coach Tadeusz Wnuk he made ​​rapid progress. He was therefore delegated to the central sports club " Wisłoce " Dębica where Tadeusz Popiolek, Janusz Tracewski and Czeslaw Korzeń were his coach for the next few years. From 1972, he represented the Polish colors in many international competitions. He was a brilliant technician who, however, had the misfortune to have his best years just when in his weight class with the Soviet athletes Nikolai Yakovenko and Nikolai Balboschin wrestled two seemingly unbeatable exceptional players.

Nevertheless, he managed to beat Balboschin at the World Championships 1975 in Minsk and the European Championships in 1976 in Leningrad. His " nemesis " was the Bulgarian Kamen Lozanow Goranow against which he could not win a fight. The yield of his rings generic use was winning five medals, including a bronze medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

1980 ended his career as an active wrestler Andrzej and looked after attending the Academy in Katowice coach for many years as a coach, including several years in Gothenburg, Sweden. He died unexpectedly in 2006 at the age of 59 years.
