Andy Chiodo

Andy Chiodo ( born April 25, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the EC KAC in the Austrian Hockey League.

Career

Chiodo began his career in the Ontario Hockey League for the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. There he spent three seasons from 2000. In his first two seasons in Toronto Chiodo said the goal with Peter Budaj. Chiodo was in his first season of OHL goaltender with the lowest Gegentorschnitt, he was overcome only 2.49 per game times. In his second season Chiodo received for the benefit of Budaj significantly less inserts. Nevertheless, he achieved two shutouts and helped that Toronto had the second lowest Gegentorschnitt the league. Together with Budaj Chiodo had the second best fishing quota in the league. The third season Chiodo could then prevail in the AHL as the first goalkeeper according to the exchange Budajs. Chiodo came up with three shutouts. With him Toronto reached the semifinals of the Conference play-offs, which it has mainly lost. Nevertheless, Chiodo has seen no less than 18 play-off games this season and was voted the best goalkeeper of the season.

He was pulled from the New York Islanders in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in the sixth round to 166 point total. After Chiodo but could not agree on a contract with the Islanders, he was drawn by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 at a total of 199 point.

After Draft 2003 Chiodo joined in the organization of the Pittsburgh Penguins and moved to 2006 again and again between the farm team of the Penguins in the ECHL, the Wheeling Nailers and the AHL, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. 2003/ 04 came Chiodo on eight missions in the Penguins in the NHL.
