Andy Hope 1930

Andy Hope 1930, since 2010, stage name of Andreas Hofer (* 1963 in Munich) is a German painter, sculptor and installation artist.

Life and work

From 1991 to 1997 Andreas Hofer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. In 2010, he adopted the stage name Andy Hope at 1930, since which he used exclusively.

Andy Hope 1930 is represented with works in major collections, including the collection Lenbachhaus Munich, the Museum Abteiberg Mönchengladbach, the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt, at the Pompidou Centre Paris as well as in international private collections. The Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, 2005 showed numerous works in the first museum exhibition of Andreas Hofer. In spring 2006, he was seen with the highly regarded and comprehensive solo exhibition This Iceland Earth in London.

Since 2000, the artist lives in Berlin.
