Andy Irons

Philip Andrew "Andy" Irons ( born July 24, 1978 in Hanalei on Kauai, Hawaii, † November 2, 2010 in Grapevine, Texas ) was an American professional surfer and three-time world surfing champion (2002, 2003 and 2004).

Irons was born in 1978 in Hanalei on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. His father was the late 1970s, a well-known surfer. He brought him to surf already in his early youth at.

Andy Irons was on the board with the left foot forward, so he surfed regular. If he was not in the water, he played to compensate tennis or golf. His sponsors included Billabong, Red Bull, Von Zipper, Amp'd Mobile and Dakine.

Andy Irons died on November 2, 2010 at the age of 32 years on the way back from a surfing competition in Puerto Rico maincausal of a heart attack due to a blocked coronary artery. As a secondary cause applies a mix of drugs and medicines, which were found in the body.
