Andy Kapp

Andreas "Andy" Kapp ( born December 8, 1967 in Sonthofen ) is a former successful German curler and the older brother of Ulrich Kapp. Following in the footsteps of his father, Charlie Kapp he came 1981 for curling and plays since 1992 for the curling club feet in the "Team Kapp ". He is two time European champion and four -time German champion ten.

After a series of failures in the Junior World Championships and World Championships, Kapp won to the surprise of many the gold medal at the European Championships in 1992 in Perth, Scotland. The following year, he was only seventh, but among the 1994 World Cup in Oberstdorf third place. He repeated this success in 1995 in the Canadian Brandon. From 1992 to 2011 was Andy Kapp Skip to its own established team. Were represented by 2009, only members of the CC feet, formed in 2010 a community of players with the EC Oberstdorf. Following the resignation of Kapp and Höhne in 2011, the team has continued as a " team Allgäu ". As Skip acted Andreas Lang. 2013 win Kapp and Höhne gold at the Mixed Championship in Edinburgh. Both operate as a base coach for the German curling offspring.

He lives with his wife Ute and his three children in Unterthingau and is also professionally linked to the ice - he is a wholesaler of frozen foods.
