Andy Koyama

Andy Koyama ( born April 18, 1962 in Toronto ) is a Canadian recording engineer.

Life and career

Koyama grew up in Toronto and studied at the University of Toronto with an emphasis in Technical Physics.

After his studies he worked as a musician and sound engineer before he was employed 12 years at Deluxe studio in Toronto, where he mixed the sound for film and television productions, among others. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked for Universal Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Todd - AO, before joining the Formosa Group.

At the Academy Awards in 2014 Koyama and his colleagues David Brownlow and Beau Borders have been nominated Best Sound for their work on Lone Survivor in the category.
