Andy LaPlegua

Andy LaPlegua ( born September 15, 1975 in Fredrikstad, Norway; actual name Ole Anders Olsen ) is the founder and lead singer of the Future - pop band Icon of Coil.

Life and work

Andy LaPlegua is still active in three other projects, Combichrist (formerly DRIVE), Panzer AG and (DJ) Scandy. Of these, stormed Icon of Coil and Combichrist the German Alternative Charts (DAC). With Combichrist he was in the top 5 on the Billboard Dance Charts.

He was part of several scenes in Norway. Andy LaPlegua experimented with Hip Hop in the Detroit Techno / Old School band LAW, with Industrial in Devils Into Crime (DIC ), with punk in the band My Right Choice ( MRC), where he worked as a singer and with whom he the name Flesh Fire released an EP. Furthermore, as a temporary and later as lead singer of the metal group Lash Out. In addition, he was also interested in trance and club music, which he was also active in the projects Plastic Life and Sector9.

An earlier pseudonym from his rock-' n' -roll time was Andy Speed ​​.

Icon of Coil in 1997, initially created as a solo project founded. After he was very enthusiastic about his music and the possibilities it offers, he invited Sebastian Komor, a former band mates, in order to assist him in live performances. After several public appearances and the release of the first Icon of Coil album, Shallow Nation, Komor has been a permanent member.

The band Combichrist was officially launched in 2003. Founded as a more aggressive alternative to Icon of Coil, Panzer AG was established in 2004. LaPlegua here combines the danceability of Icon of Coil with the hard beats of Combichrist. His fourth, more out blank techno project, (DJ) Scandy.
