Andy Nelson (sound engineer)

Andrew "Andy" James Nelson ( born 1953 or 1954, probably in the United States) is an award-winning American sound engineer, sound engineer and sound mixer (sound re-recording mixer).

Life and work

Andy Nelson since 1983 working as a sound engineer in the film and television, first at Shepperton Studios in the UK, later in the film House Toronto with Norman Jewison and David Cronenberg, and then from 1989 in Todd - AO.

Since 2003, Andy Nelson of the Senior Vice President of Sound Operations at 20th Century Fox. He was previously with Fox since 1997 Vice President for Re-Recording Services. He is regarded as one of the most talented currently re-recording mixer where he simultaneously assumes even more administrative duties at Fox. Mostly Nelson is involved in the post production of films by renowned directors such as Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, George Lucas and JJ Abrams.

Since 1993 Andy Nelson works together as a team with the sound engineer Anna Behlmer, with which he was involved, among others, Braveheart, Greedy and LA Confidential. He does mostly work on the dialogues and the music while Behlmer is responsible for the sound effects.

He was honored by Queen Elizabeth II in 2001 with the Australian Centenary Medal for his services in the Australian film production company.
