Andy Timmons

Andy Timmons ( born July 26, 1963 in Evansville, Indiana, United States) is an American rock and fusion guitarist and studio musician.

Timmons has published a considerable number of albums and collaborated for their own projects or as a studio musician with numerous well-known American musicians. To a greater level of awareness he came through the publication of the first album of the American hard rock band Danger Danger, he recorded with the two studio albums.

At the age of thirteen Timmons was interested in playing the guitar, which is why he founded his first band, Taylor Bay. Later, he began to read books on studio guitarists like Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton. Health clubs continue pursuing he studied for two years classical concert guitar, but in order later to complete a music degree in jazz music at the University of Miami.

Andy Timmons is known for his particularly virtuosic lead guitar playing and his harmonically sophisticated through-composed instrumental songs.

He is an endorser for the guitar manufacturer Ibanez, from whom he got a, adapted to its own claims, special model ( "signature guitar" ) was built. The Ibanez AT- 100 SB was built in a limited edition of 175 pieces in 1999. After a short break as endorser Ibanez Ibanez announced the end of 2008 another collaboration with Timmons. Since 2009, the Ibanez AT- 100 CL is produced in unlimited quantities. On the American Musikmesse NAMM is a cheaper sister model of the AT- 100, the Ibanez AT- 10P presented in January 2013.
