Anémone Marmottan

Anémone Marmottan (born 25 May 1988 in Bourg -Saint -Maurice ) is a French alpine skier. In the World Cup they will start since the 2008/ 09 season, their strongest discipline of giant slalom. In 2011 she was Team World Champion.

Biography

Marmottan denied her first FIS races in December 2003 and reached the podium for the first time a year later. The first victory was followed in March 2006. In January 2005 and January 2006, she first participated in competitions in the European Cup, but did not yet reach the points. Since the season 2006/ 07, the French regularly launches in the European Cup. On January 6, 2007, they took with the surprising seventh place in the slalom of Melchsee -Frutt their first points. Previously had been her best result a 38th place. From now on, she was able to classify regularly in the points, reached this winter another three top-10 results and failed to finish the season in fourth place in the second departure of Santa Caterina barely their first podium. At the Junior World Championships in 2007 she reached the eighth place in the giant slalom.

In the European Cup season 2007/ 08 Marmottan could not repeat last year's results by far. She had to fight with many failures and only came once among the top 30 fared better her at the Junior World Championship 2008 in Formigal, where she was tenth in the giant slalom and 13th in slalom. In the European Cup season 2008/ 09 she was able to re- classify regularly in the points and achieved four top-10 results. Her best result was sixth place in the Super Combined Caspoggio.

In winter 2008/ 09 season, she also denied their first four World Cup races, but she was able to qualify in any of these giant slalom for the second pass. After she was also in the first two World Cup races of the season 2009/10 with no result, she reached on 28 November 2009 at the giant slalom in Aspen the 16th Place and won for the first time World Cup points. Marmottan participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and took part as the second best French 11th place in the giant slalom. At the end of the winter, it reached second place in the slalom in Kranjska Gora her first podium finish in the European Cup.

On 12 December 2010 Marmottan achieved 4th place in the giant slalom in St. Moritz, her best World Cup result. This result they equaled 6 February 2011 in the giant slalom in Zwiesel. In the Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen she won with the French team the team competition, in the giant slalom she was ranked 14 On 1 March 2011 suffered it during retraction for the Europa Cup slalom in Zakopane a tibia and fibula fracture in his right leg. The following season, 2011/12 Marmottan drove in three World Cup giant slaloms into the top ten.

The first World Cup podium succeeded Marmottan on March 6, 2014, the giant slalom at Åre.
