The largest lake in Lønset

Ångardsvatnet is a lake in the valley Storlidalen and is located in the parish Lønset in the Norwegian municipality of Oppdal.

Geography

The lake is the largest lake in Lønset and is located about 35 km west of the capital of Oppdal in the same community. Situated in the mountains Troll homes lake is surrounded by the mountains Gråfjellet, Kråkvasstind and Lorthøa in the south and Bårdsgardskammen and Oklahoma to the north. The Ångardsvatnet is interconnected with the lake Dalsvatnet through the 1.7 km long river Haugelva. The regulation of the lake occurred in connection with the expansion of 1973 opened the power station Driva and led to the river Vindola which flows from the east to the Dalsvatnet and near Lønset into the river Driva, part of the year very little water mitsichführt.

Activities

During the summer the lake offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, boat trips and other activities. Landowners Association of Lønset has the right to fish and sells fishing licenses to sport fishing. Winter activities are possible on groomed trails and in addition there is the possibility for ice fishing. Around Easter, is organizing a competition on Ångardsvatnet to every year.
