Angath

Angath is a municipality with 960 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district of Kufstein Kufstein, Tyrol ( Austria ).

Geography

Location

Angath is located in the lower Inn valley near Wörgl, north of the Inn.

The municipality is formed by the main village and the hamlets Angath Aichat, Fürth, Giglmair, Unterachleit, Haslach.

History

In the 15th and 16th centuries Angath was due to the location at the heart of the Tyrolean Inn Inn Shipping and shipbuilding. In the area of the place was to control the river in Tyrol only major Inn Island.

Angath is marked still quite rural today and acts as a residential suburb for commuters to Wörgl and Kufstein. The council has a new road and house number system and the introduction of new postal code " 6321 " enacted with effect from 1 October 2010.

Coat of arms

Colors and Seeblattmotiv indicate the previous affiliation of large parts Angaths to the basic rule of pin woman Chiemsee. The oars are reminiscent of the erstwhile role as a major transhipment sites of the Tyrolean Innschiffahrt.
