Angel Fire is a city in Colfax County in the U.S. state of New Mexico.

Geography

The city is located in the southwestern corner of the county in northeastern New Mexico, about 35 miles from Colorado is located in the north. It is the Sangre de Cristo mountains, part of the mountains of the Rocky Mountains located.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,048 people in 462 households and 340 families. The population density was 14 people per km ². The racial the population was composed of 90.46 % White, 0.19 % African American, 1.05 % Native American, 0.95 % Asian, and other groups. By 2010, the population rose to 1216 inhabitants, which corresponds to an annual growth rate of 1.36 %.

Of the 462 households out of which 24.20 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 64.90 % were married couples living together, 5.60% had a female householder with no husband, and 26.20% were non-families, 20.60 % of all households are made up and in 5.20% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.56 persons.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 19.90 % under the age of 18, 3.30 % from 18 to 24, 22.70% from 25 to 44 years, 38.10 % between 45 and 64 years and 15.90% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 47 years. For every 100 females there were 104.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were statistically 101.2 males.

The median income for a household was $ 48,250, and the median income for a family was $ 56,125. Males have a median income of $ 35,417, women $ 26,429. The per capita income was $ 29,614. 6.70 % of families and 11.70 % of the population were below the poverty line.
