Formation

After the success of major debuts Nothingface Voivod was expected that the band continues its chosen path towards progressive metal. The expectations for the album were very high after it was announced that Voivod had hired as a producer Terry Brown, who had made his work with Rush a name. Brown wanted to Voivod produce a hit album and so had to shoot guest musicians like Ivan Doroschuk of Men Without Hats as a keyboardist with. The procedure of Terry Brown came especially at Belanger singer and bassist Theriault little understanding. While Belanger arranged with the situation complained Theriault, that Voivod had no control over the production of the album. After he had finished recording his bass tracks, informed him with producer Brown that he does his job and now has nothing to do with the further production. This seemed absurd Theriault and he left the studio. Although there were then two more meetings with his bandmates, but an agreement on Theriaults participation in the mix of the album could not be achieved, and he left the band. For this reason, he is not out in the liner notes to the album as a band member and is mapped to any of the promo photos for the album.
