Angela Billingham, Baroness Billingham

Angela Theodora Billingham, Baroness Billingham, JP ( born July 31, 1939) is a British politician ( Labour ).

Career

Billingham was one of the Banbury Borough Council in 1970 and 1974 to 1984 the Cherwell District Council, the latter as chairman of the Labour group until 1974. In 1976, she was mayor of Banbury. 1993 to 1994 she served on the Oxfordshire County Council.

In 1992, she appeared in the constituency of Banbury for the House of Commons, but was defeated. Billingham from 1994 to 1999 Member of the European Parliament for Northamptonshire and Blaby. They stand for re- election, but was defeated.

In 2000, she was elevated to Life peer Baroness Billingham and, of Banbury in the County of Oxfordshire, appointed. Since 2002 she has been deputy chairman of the Sports Group, since 2006 for the Lighter Evenings Group and since 2006, Chairman of the Tennis Group.

From 2004 to 2005 she was deputy chairman of the PLP Departmental Committee for Culture, Media and Sport.

Family

She was married from 1962 until his death in 1992 with Peter Billingham. From this marriage two children were born.
