Angela Buxton

Angela Buxton ( born August 16, 1934 in Liverpool, United Kingdom) is a former British tennis player.

Biography

Angela Buxton successful year was 1956, in which they could win at the French Championships in Paris and at Wimbledon, together with the US-American Althea Gibson, each of the women's doubles tennis. The Maccabiah Games in Israel, she won in 1953 and 1957, the gold medal in women's singles. In 1956, she reached the final in Wimbledon Tennis single, but had to be US- American Shirley Fry smooth with 3:6, 1:6 beaten.
