Angela Constance

Angela Constance ( born July 15, 1970 in Blackburn) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP).

Life

Constance attended high school in West Calder and Bo'ness Academy in 1988 before enrolling at the University of Glasgow. She then worked a few years in the financial sector and then continued his education at West Lothian College and the University of Stirling. Following Constance worked as a social worker first for the council areas of Clackmannanshire and Perth and Kinross and finally for the State Hospital. Between 1997 and 2007 she was a council member of the Council Area West Lothian. Constance is the mother of a son.

Political career

In the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007 she made her first as a direct candidate in the constituency of Livingston and won the vote before their counterparty Bristow Muldoon of the Labour Party, who represented the constituency in the Scottish Parliament since 1999.

2007 Constance won the direct mandate in the constituency of Livingston and moved for the first time in the Scottish Parliament. In the revision of constituencies in 2011 this constituency was abolished and was largely attributable to the newly created constituency Almond Valley. Obtained also in this constituency Constance in the parliamentary elections of 2011, the direct mandate. Constance is Secretary of State for Children and Youth.
