Angela Denoke

Angela Denoke ( born November 27, 1961 in Stade ) is a German opera, recital and concert singer in the vocal range soprano. It is one of the leading singers of her generation.

Life

Angela Denoke grew up with two sisters in a musical family in Stade on. Even the four- year-old discovered for himself the piano as an instrument and played at the age of 6 years for the first time publicly. She studied music education before she recorded her vocal studies at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg with Ingrid Kremling.

Her first engagement was Angela Denoke 1992-1996 at the Theater Ulm. She sang, amongst others, Fiordiligi ( Così fan tutte ), Donna Anna ( Don Giovanni) and Agathe ( Der Freischütz ). From 1996 to 2000 it belonged to the ensemble of the Stuttgart Opera and sang among others Eva ( Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Lisa ( Pique Dame ), Marie ( Wozzeck ), Sieglinde ( Die Walküre ) and the Marschallin ( Der Rosenkavalier ).

At the Vienna State Opera debut in 1997 as Angela Denoke Marschallin. 2000 was followed by Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, 2002, the title role in Jenufa, 2004 Marietta in Die tote Stadt in co-production with the Salzburg Festival, and Kundry in Parsifal, 2007, the title role in Arabella, 2009/2010 the title roles in Salome and Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District. At the Salzburg Festival in 1997, she sang Marie ( Wozzeck ) and 1998 the title role of Katya Kabanov.

More games Denokes are Elsa ( Lohengrin ), CHRYSOTHEMIS ( Elektra ), daughter ( Cardillac ) and Emilia Marty ( The Makropulos Affair ). In 2013 she made her debut at the Opera di Roma Adriano ( Rienzi ).

Angela Denoke sings, among others, the following opera stages: Metropolitan Opera ( debut: Marschallin 2005), Covent Garden Opera, Bavarian State Opera in Munich ( Debut: Salome 2006), the Semper Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Opéra National de Paris, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Berlin State Opera, Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Teatro Real Madrid, Hamburg State Opera, as well as in San Francisco and Chicago.

In opera and concert, she has worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Sylvain Cambreling, Christoph Eschenbach, James Allen Gähres, Hartmut Haenchen, Zubin Mehta, Ingo Metzmacher, Kent Nagano, Seiji Ozawa, Mikhail Pletnev, Sir Simon Rattle, Donald Runnicles, Esa -Pekka Salonen, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Stefan Soltesz and Christian Thielemann.

Several CD and video productions, radio and television appearances to document their artistic activity.

Angela Denoke is a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg.
