Angela Schanelec

Angela Schanelec ( born February 14, 1962 in Aalen ) is a German professor, actress, film director and screenwriter and is counted to the Berlin school.

Angela Schanelec graduated from 1982 to 1984 studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. After graduating she worked as a stage actress until 1991 and has been engaged in acting Cologne, Thalia Theater in Hamburg, at the stage at Rosa Luxemburg Platz in Berlin ( where she performed, among others, directed by Jürgen Gosch with actor Ulrich Wesselmann in a two -character play ) and at the Schauspielhaus Bochum.

In 1990 she began a film directing course at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin, where she graduated in 1995 with a diploma. Since then she has worked as a freelance film director. For her film Marseille 2005 she was awarded the German Film Critics with the prize for the best screenplay. For episodic film Germany 09 they contributed the chapter on First Day.
