Angelo Domenghini

Angelo Domenghini ( born August 25, 1941 in Lallio ) is a former Italian football player and coach.

Career

The striker Domenghini began his professional career in 1961 at Atalanta Bergamo. In 1964 he moved to Inter Milan, where he was Italian national team. He belonged to the Italian team that won the European Football Championship 1968. In 1969 he moved to the Sardinian club Cagliari Calcio, where he replaced the exchanged Inter Roberto Boninsegna. In the national team he played with his club colleague Luigi Riva and Boninsegna at the Football World Cup 1970, where he scored the only goal for Italy in the group stage in the 1-0 victory against Sweden. Nevertheless, the team winners and reached for the Game of the Century against Germany the final, which was lost against Brazil with 1:4.

In 1973 he left Cagliari and went to Roma. The successful times were terminated for Domenghini however. For the capital city, he played only one season and went on to Hellas Verona. After 1976, he only played for unterklassige clubs and ended his career in 1979.
