Angelo Maria Durini

Angelo Maria Durini (* May 29, 1725 in Milan, † April 28, 1796 at Lake Como ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

After studying in Rome and the attainment of the doctoral degree " in both right " ( ie, in the secular and religious law) on 9 June 1757 he worked as a clerk at the Apostolic Signatura, as Internuncio in the Papal Nunciature in Paris and since 1760 as Inquisitor in Malta. In October 1766 he was ordained as a priest and bishop before long. He received the Titularerzbistum Ancyra.

Even as a bishop, he remained in the Roman Curia, and was nuncio in Poland. From 1774 to 1776 Durini lived in Avignon. On May 20, 1776, he was called by Pope Pius VI. appointed in a cardinal Como, but received no titular church. 1787 he had set up in Lenno on Lake Como, Villa del Balbianello.
