Angelo Palombo ( born September 25, 1981 in Ferentino (FR), Italy) is an Italian football player.

Career

In the club

Palombo debuted in February 2002 in Serie A for Fiorentina. Following the bankruptcy of the club to the end of the season 2001 /02 and the associated demotion to the C2 series Palombo left Florence and moved free transfer to the then second division club Sampdoria. Already in his first season at Genoa he came to more than 30 missions and rose with the club as a champion of Serie B on in the first Italian league.

In Serie A, Palombo since the rise is one of the key players of the club, qualifying for the 2005 UEFA Cup. There, the midfielder came to three operations failed with Genoa, however, already in the group stage. Also in the 2007/ 08 season he is with Sampdoria in the UEFA Cup.

January 31, 2012 Inter Milan announced the signing of Palombo on loan. After only three operations in the second half Palombo returned to Sampdoria, where he came to no use under coach Ciro Ferrara. As this was then replaced by Delio Rossi, Angelo Palombo could play for Sampdoria after nearly a year. Now he again has a firm place in the starting XI.

In the National Team

Palombo was part of the Italian U-21 national squad in Germany won the title at the U- 21 Championship 2004. In the same year he was also a regular player in the squad of his country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, winning the bronze medal.

In August 2006, Palombo was under Roberto Donadoni against Croatia, his debut for the Italian national team. Since then, he heard regularly in the squad for the Squadra Azzurra.
