Angelo State University

The Angelo State University ( ASU) is a university located in San Angelo, Texas (USA). She is a member of the Texas Tech University System and the " Lone Star Conference ." As financial statements provides the Angelo State University 100 possible bachelor's degree programs and 21 master's degree programs.

History

The Angelo State University was founded in 1928. In 1947 the first building was erected on the present campus. In May 1967, the first bachelor's degrees were awarded at the university. In May 1969, was renamed the Angelo State College, Angelo State University. After the death of the university president Vincent Michael P. Ryan was elected on 9 August 1994 for interim President before the current reigning President Dr. E James Hindman the third President of Angelo State University was established on 25 January 1995.

Campus

The campus ( 1.1 km ²) has increased significantly since 1965 due to a comprehensive blueprint and now has buildings valued at approximately 271 million U.S. dollars. The construction of the Porter Henderson Library was established in 1967 instead, the Raymond M. Cavness Science Building and the Concho skyscrapers were completed in 1968, the large sports hall in 1972. The 5,600 -square-foot Rassmann Building, where the Faculty of Economics is located, was in summer of 1983 built. The 8,000 -square-foot Mathematics - Computer Science Building, where the Faculty of Mathematics and computer science as well as the large computer center of the University are located, was built in 1996. Just recently, the student housing complex Texan Hall was completed, a new dormitory is planned on the west side of the campus.

Sports

The Angelo State University has teams in the sports of American football, basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball. The colors of the University are yellow and blue. The football team and all the other men's teams bear the name Rams (Aries), the women's teams the name Rambelles (Female Aries ).
