Angelos Charisteas (Greek Άγγελος Χαριστέας [ aŋʝɛlɔs xaɾistɛas ]; born February 9, 1980 in Serres ) is a Greek football player.

Career

Angelos Charisteas started his professional career at the age of 17 in his home in the Greek first division club Aris Thessaloniki, where the striker came nine times in his first year, scoring two goals. Except for a brief interlude in Athinaikos Athens Thessaloniki faithful he remained until 2002.

Werder Bremen and 2004 European

He then moved to the German Bundesliga Werder Bremen. There he celebrated a successful debut and scored the same as a regular player in the storm nine goals this season.

2004 was then the most successful year of his career.
