Angeren

Angeren is a place which lies on the River Rhine and the pieces, and in the province of Gelderland and today belongs to the municipality Lingewaard. This community is located between Arnhem and Nijmegen. It has 2 851 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2009) and is located on the N838.

2001 has been merged with the municipalities Huissen and Gendt to the new community Lingewaard the former municipality Bemmel.

History

Angeren is already mentioned as a settlement Angrina together with a church in a document from the year 814 or 815. In 1160 Angeren was an independent parish. The church outgrew village in the Middle Ages to a place with space, castle " Roode forest " and a mill on Rijndijk. The residents found their existence mainly in agriculture. The farms were scattered outside the village. Since 1825 the brickworks managed into the foothills jobs.

The parish has three choirs, a mixed choir, children's choir ( " De Bavootjes " ) and a female chorus ( " Encore "). Outside the parish, there is the mixed choir " Zang en Vreugde " from " Stichting Ouderenwerk Angeren " ( SOWA ).

Activities
